Several places where film shooting took places has become particular
tourism attractions that boost popularity of the tourism spots.
In
Indonesia, such places where famous Hollywood and local films were
recorded are also continued to attract visitors. Below are list of
famous film shooting places in Indonesian tourism destinations:
-Mount Semeru, East Java
In the end of 2012, Indonesian film entitled ‘5 CM’ have been
dominating the cinemas in the country. Some scenes of the film were
taken at the highest mountain in Java Island. The number of visitors
have been said to be increasing after the film screening.
-Bangka and Belitung Islands
In Sumatra have long been an exotic attraction to tourist. However, after the popular Indonesian film entitled Laskar Pelangi
(The Rainbow Troops), which was adapted from the best-selling Novel by
Andrea Hirata, was made and screened, visitors are not only visiting the
islands for its beautiful beaches and landscape, but also an old school
which was the place where the film shooting took place.
-Mount Rinjani, West Nusa Tenggara
During the mid of 2013, a movie entitled Leher Angsa (Goose’s Neck)
was released that telling a story about traditional life of Sembalun
Residents who have yet to familiar with public toilets. The shooting
took place in the foot of Mount Rinjani which has already been a popular
tourist destination for its captivating landscape of Segara Anak.
-Ubud Regions, Padang-padang Beach, Bali
There have been numerous places in Bali which became shooting spots for many movies. The last film shot in Bali was Hollywood’s Eat, Pray, Love,
starred by Julia Roberts. Local people around the beach have even
calling the shooting spot as Julia Roberts beach to attract tourists.
