As much as 100 kinds of Soto from various regions in Indonesia
presented in the Indonesian Creative Product Week in Batam, Riau Island,
on Friday.
From 100 kinds of Soto presented, there were Soto Padang, Soto
Lamongan, Soto Bandung, Noodle Soto, Coto Makassar and Soto Sulung.
Head of Indonesian Sertificate Institution Profession of Catering
Service, Sulasmiati Supardan, said 24 chefs led in the making of the
sotos.
The Indonesian Museum of World Record recorded the presentation of 100 kinds of Soto as a new record.
"Soto is an Indonesian iconic cooking, we encourage and welcome
visitors to come," said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy,
Mari Elka Pangestu.
Several regions in Indonesia has their own typical dish of Soto. The
materials used to make 100 sotos that were presented in the Indonesian
Creative Product Week were varied in taste.
Generally, every region had their own hereditary recipe from their
ancestors. According to Mari, it would not be difficult to obtain
recipes typical to every region because usually catering owners have
collected recipes since several years back.
