For many people, satay conjures up an image of chicken meat skewered
on a thin bamboo stick and glazed with sweet peanut sauce and spices.
But this vast archipelago is home to all sorts of ethnicities and
cultures each offering their own rich culinary traditions and own take
on the humble recipe. The great thing about being in a cosmopolitan
melting pot such as Jakarta is that all these variations can be found
here.
