The Chairman of the Indonesian Tourism Promotion Board (BPPI), Yanti
Sukamdani said that her side starts to focus on bringing up the tourism
potential of the regions on the borders of the country.
This will become
one of the efforts to increase tourists’ visit to Indonesia.
“BPPI start to working on the frontiers since they have easy accesses
to enter Indonesian territory,” said Yanti during the discussion on
tourism in FX Mall, Senayan, Jakarta on June 22.
One of the efforts, Yanti said, is by holding musical concerts on the
borders such as 2014 Bintan Jazz Festival which was held on June 21 to
attract tourists from Singapore and Malaysia.
BPPI is currently
developing three types of promotion which are creative tourism, green
tourism, and low season tourism.
“This year, we will focus on China and Korea as the main target,” Yanti added.
